Looking for Supra MKIV, American Spec, LHD, 6 Speed,
Gentleman,
i got sick again
But this time my plans are a bit different. I am looking for a AMERICAN SPEC ORIGINAL LHD, 6 Speed twin turbo Supra MKIV. Preferrabaly stock, can be modified but tasty and not in the Fast and the furious style.
I would prefer an ORIGINAL Twin Turbo car, not a N/A chassis with a TT Swap.
If i would find one here... and i am sure i wont, i will import one from the states as i am searching daily...
BTW. I its an American Spec, registration shouldnt be a problem, right? And even if it is converted to single turbo already, how do they wanna konw if it has two turbos or just one if it directly comes from the states as per VIN the car is a SUPRA TURBO!

single turbo does not pass, those days are long gone buddy...
they know now, and in sharjah they are just overcautious - saying my stock ct20's were not original it did pass DXB with no issues though...
NA - TT swap is just fine, why not?

NA-TT Swap is not preferred beause of the following points.
1. Chassis Number will not match engine code. 2JZGE is N/A and 2JZGTE is TT. SO if they are really strict at the registration they will say is not a Turbo car if its a N/A chassis. If you have an original Turbo car nobody can say anything because it comes as turbo from stock.
2. Its not only the engine swap. Thats what most of the people do here. You need the gearbox, brakes, drivetrain, etc. if you wanna do it properly.
I am still not sure about the regulations here. For example, i sold my completely modifed Hartge e60 M5 with full exhaust system, lowered, spoiler, tinted windows, matte black stripe on the car, spacers etc etc. The passing took 2 minutes and thy guy even didnt opened the hood...

Chassis number don't mention anything like 2JZGE/GTE, that's your engine number. Your chassis number will show JZA80......somewhere, which is for all MKIV Supras, NA or TT.simon*X wrote:1. it passed but i had to convince them it was swapped as the 7m blew and this 2jz not modified, i went with the stock exhaust and had to speak to their manager - they asked me to get permission and have it approved from RTA but the manager just signed and it passed without them even testing the smoke emission level, my turbo's were blown lol... i had hidden the Apexi SAFC in the Dash and removed the gauges

i have a 7m-GE swapped 2jz GTE and i registered it about a month ago...
My Lexus/Soarer does not even show the engine number. Do you remember seeing the engine number of your Supra before?simon*X wrote:Oh sam.. yes your right... thats what i ment..
But than the engine number will not match as the engine number will say GE instead of GTE!

lol, my 2jz block is painted red so no numbers there my brother!
they sent me to the FixPlus shed to ask them to clean some grime off and tell em to tell me the number, but they could not - its too faded so my REG card has a NIL for Engine number
