Finally bought a 4WD yesterday, a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2001, US specs, accident free (I checked it out using Carfax), driven for approx. 71,000 miles. It's the Limited model, meaning a lot of options and some of them don't work (haha).

It needs a bit of work:
1) Slight squeak emanating from the rear when turning sharply
2) The brakes squeal (needs new brake pads)
3) When the engine is cold, the car rattles a bit when stopping
4) CD player doesn't read any of my CDs, gives me the 'Err' message
5) I tried to shift to the 4Lo position, and it doesn't go that far sometimes
6) The 10 Disc CD changer at the back doesn't have the damn CD magazine!

Apart from that, it drives well, the interior is spotless, leather, heated front seats, full power front seats, excellent A/C, wheels.

Well its a nyc car and how much u got it for?I like the car but i hate the black leather as when it will be hot outside the ac of these cars are not so good so u will feel the heat in black leather interior.

Regarding ur problem i may thing these might be problem for it:

3)Check the rear differentiation as these is normal problem in jeep
4)It must be giving error as the head unit must not be supporting MP3 format only Audio CD

Thanks Obaid. I got it less than the market rate (going rate is around 18k), but yeah, I agree the black leather will become a hot plate if not covered properly, the good thing is, the only time my car is parked outside is on weekends or when I return from work as the office parking is in the basement.

I believe Fast Track may be able to check the differential for me. And I tried copied Audio CDs in the Head Unit, not an original one. I know it doesn't support MP3s :(

I don't mind replacing the stock head unit with a sweet Kenwood, but I love the steering wheel controls :(
