Castrol Middle East is launching Castrol Goal which is a new exciting five-a-side football tournament in the UAE, Riyadh, Jeddah and Kuwait. The tournament is designed to develop football within each of these regions and the UAE will be kicked off on 8th of May at Raffles International School, Jumeirah with the UAE final taking place on 15th May.

Castrol Goal is being driven by Castrol – an official 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa ™ Sponsor and supported by 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa ™ Partners Coca-Cola and Adidas. Mohammed Samir, Castrol Regional Marketing Controller – Middle East stated “Castrol is delighted to be involved in such a exciting tournament. We have no doubt that the football in the UAE is very strong and this gives the players the perfect opportunity to showcase this. The best 4 teams from each territory will then play in a final at the end of this year in UAE to decide the overall champions, who will be given a trip of a lifetime prize of being taken to the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa ™ courtesy of Castrol.

In Dubai on the 8th of May, 32 teams will play in 8 groups of 4 teams with the top two in each group all progressing to the UAE final on the 15th May. At the final 16 teams will play in 4 groups of 4 teams and with all four semi-finalists invited back to the final at the end of the year with the finalists from Riyadh, Jeddah and Kuwait. Each event will have a range of activities with prizes available, providing great entertainment for the whole family throughout the whole tournament.

Castrol Goal in the UAE has already been inundated with teams and it will be hugely competitive as they will all want to be going to watch their heroes in South Africa. The final of Castrol Goal is taking place this Friday 22nd May at 4pm at Raffles International School, Jumeirah. With 100 teams fighting it out over the last two Fridays, the top 40 teams are now left to contest for the 4 places on offer to the regional final.

The success of the tournament has been seen by everyone that has contested and many participants have expressed their gratitude for bringing such a well organised and professional tournament for UAE footballers to compete in.

The excitement is just starting now with the finals. The teams that manage to get through to the semi finals this Friday will automatically qualify for the regional finals for later this year in Dubai. These 4 teams will continue to play the matches to see who is crowned the Champions of the UAE.

The teams that qualify will then get the opportunity to win the fabulous prize and being taken to the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa courtesy of Castrol.
