It is hoped that by the time you indulge in reading this
article, you have managed to refrain from drooling
any further over your keyboard. Yes, the pictures
are good… in fact, very good, though I’m
sure they don’t completely do such an awesome
car as this one much justice. Pictures fail to
convey all the beautiful details on this Advance
Racing Performance’s Toyota Supra. And who
is the lucky man who is envied by many for owning
such a ride?
He is Marwan H. Abdullah. I must
say I have seen quiet a few Supras, but a few
if none quiet as beautiful as Marwan’s.
All the visual modifications are done in such
good taste, and credit must go to both Marwan
and ARP for such a commendable job well done. |

This car has quiet a demeanor. Looking at it from
the front, you can’t help but get the feeling
that it could pounce on you any minute, thanks
to it’s stylishly aggressive Bomex Big-mouth
bumper. And it doesn’t stop there. As we
take a walk around it, we are greeted by the unmistakably
Veilside side-skirts and 18” Volk Racing
rims. But it just gets better. Never have I seen
such a beautiful back-end on a Supra. The AbFlug
rear bumper is one of my favorites for this car,
and combined with the carbon fiber rear diffuser
also from AbFlug, makes a memorably overwhelming
experience for any driver on the road fortunate
(and likely) enough to be behind it. And after
all that, this baby still manages to remain literally
down-to-earth thanks to its HKS coilovers, with
a helping hand from the downforce the carbon fiber
GT wing provides.

And now the juicy part… can you say
560 horses? If images could make sounds, these
pictures would be roaring so loud you’d
blow your speakers, as such can be expected from
this 560hp turbo-charged beast of an import car.
With a quick-spooling Garrett GT45 single turbo
and HKS 272 cams, you can’t really go wrong.
The Garrett is one of the more responsive Turbos
available for the Supra, with its air effectively
being cooled by a TRUST 4-row intercooler. I can
imagine how fast the needle flies to the red in
this automotive art-piece, with the music from
the GReddy Exhaust System playing in the background.
All that power is efficiently delivered to the
wheels through a 6-speed tranny with an OSgiken
triple-plate clutch. As a bonus, ARP also ported
the engine heads to reduce restriction in the
engine’s intake and exhaust tracts.
The 2JZ-GTE produces 560hp at 2.1 bar of
boost.

With all that mouthwatering power comes the comfort
and pleasure of steering this beauty with a MOMO,
while being hugged by the side-supporting Recaro racing
seats, which together make for an experience that
instills a sense of confidence while driving. Add
a custom rollcage to that, and you’ve got a
sense of safety, which is of paramount importance
in a performer such as this. |
|
As such, I would again like to thank Marwan H. Abdulla
and ARP for giving us the privilege of experiencing
such an awesome car. This is truly one of the most
seductive Supras out there, and even better is the
power it possesses to back up that seduction. As once
was said about the boxer Muhammad Ali, this car floats
like a Butterfly and stings like a bee. |
